|
|
I have been offered a nice job which starts during August. I am at a Public School at the moment and need a reference from them due to it being a conditional offer.
My relations with the school are good but I have heard how getting references here can be difficult. Bearing in mind I would not be leaving mid-semester, but would be breaking the contract, do you think it will be possible to get a reference from a public school?
I hope that giving plenty of notice and having worked hard will be enough but you never know! |

Do you specifically need the letter of reference or just the confirmation of employment?
If reference, write it yourself and get your co-teacher (technically your supervisor) to sign it.
If C.O.E. then the admin office is required by law to give you one. They usually charge 100-200 won for processing it. This is what MOST employers in Korea call a reference.

Neither. The company/organization I have been offered a job with want to send a reference request for my supervisor to fill in and return.
He is a nice guy but because starting that job means I will be leaving mid-contract I am a little bit worried about how he might react! |

ASK??
Then offer to help them find a suitable replacement for you.
Their biggest worry is being without anyone suitable as the NET.
If they don't have that worry then they usually are pretty good about it.
