The joys of Spring unfold in Seoul

Seoul sets forth a new and exciting program of spring cultural events to celebrate the coming of the new season.

The famed Hangang Yeouido Spring Flowers Festival (now in its 6th year) will be held this year from April 9th to 13th. Visitors to the festival can not only take in the beauty of the blossoming cherry trees, but also enjoy a range of events such as jazz performances and firework displays

Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, a traditional performance titled Being engulfed in the April Floral Scent of Namsan will be presented at the Seoul Namsan Gugakdang. Starting from April 28th, the Story of Admiral Yi Sun-sin (1545~1598), a special exhibition where visitors may learn about the life and achievements of the one of the greatest generals from the Joseon Dynasty, will open on the second basement level of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.

This seasons activities also include a range of exciting hands-on experience/educational programs that are open to the public at little or no cost.

From the 8th to the 10th, and 22nd to 23rd, the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture is presenting a program titled Discovering Seoul Arts & Culture, wherein participants will have the opportunity to tour the areas museums and/or historical sites. You may call or visit the website to pre-register. The Traditional Cultural Experience Center at Seoul Folk Flea Market (opening daily at 10:30am), presents such hands-on programs as ceramic hand painting and Hahoe mask-making.
