Has anyone else seen these? I've only seen it in the past couple weeks, a station was set up in my neighborhood. In case you don't know, it's bicycle racks with all these uniform city-owned bikes. They're locked into place and there some computer system which I assume is sued to take out a bike. Thing is, I have no idea how it works, but I'm interested.

Does anyone know how it works? How does one sign up? etc.

Heha. Check out the "Pissed Off" thread.

Chances are they won't accept your arc card.

If you can, use them while they last. They will be rolling wrecks in 12 months time.

Imo, they are a stupid idea. If they were so great, a private company would rent out bikes and make millions. People treat them like rental cars (err bikes), and they get trashed.

The station near my house (I live in Changwon) is in a marginal location, so the truck comes along and whisks them all away to the city center. It's rare that there is ever a functional bike at my station.

Oh well. The photo op they created back last spring, will look good in some politicians CV. He can move on to wasting other peoples money in some other harebrained scheme now.

Frickn' relax dude. If Koreans want to keep their bikes for Koreans, they have every right to. If you get 'ur panties in a bunch over something as trivial as this. you will be deceased from hypertension before the decade is through.

You could be right but doesnt this annoy you at all? Ive been here for seven years and nothing ever changes. I live here and plan on having a family here. If you cant borrow a BIKE then What good are dreams of owning your own house or business one day?.. I dont really exist here cuz everythings under the wifes name. I dunno, its a pride thing.
