Yet one more reason to jet from EPIK and Korea! Everyone is off this week except the old janitor (who also sleeps here), the bean counter (who answers the phone) and me. Loads of fun sitting in an empty office from 9-5 all vacation that I'm here. Shine on, you bright, cosmic diamond that is Korea! A few more weeks and this nightmare is over! |

You're deskwarming? I can't believe it...that's never happened here before. |

At least you get an office.
I showed up to desk warm and found that they had locked ALL of the offices (including mine).
Thankfully I had a key to the English room, so I just hang out in there. |

What happens if you go for a long, long walk this afternoon? |

can somebody please explain to me as to why they require deskwarming? is there a legitimate reason they do this? do the Korean teachers get the vaca?
of course, it makes no sense to any of us, but i'm just curious as to why the admin/school board require this. |

Some NETS used to get great vacation time, these people bragged about it so resentment grew amongst those less fortunate, they complained so the MOE's got told NETS must follow what is in the contract. The result, spending 8 hours in a freezing school (or boiling hot) school doing F all.
K teachers either do workshops/training while some are told to come and teach lower level students. |

Go out all night and have fun and just come in and sleep, surf the net, get some good food and perhaps sneak in a few chicks.
It doesn't sound bad at all. |

In reality, it's mostly just refreshing facebook over and over and eating funyuns. |

That's a good time to just head home and say the office was locked. |

It must be terrible doing nothing when you still have 4 weeks of vacation. |

They locked me into the school last Friday. I had to leave out a window. |
