Does anyone work in a public school and work 2-10pm or some combination of afternoon/evening hours?

If so, what grade level are you teaching? Did you go through EPIK or any program?

I'm just wondering if all public schools have the normal "working hours" or not.

THANKS! Smile

No, though some agencies have those after school jobs. If you go EPIK or other regular public school employment, you will have to get up at 7 or 7:30AM to be out the door by 8 or 8:30 as much as it blows to have to get up early in my opinion. Most of my classes are B4 lunch M-F. Makes me perpetually uncomfortably exhausted. I know several teachers in hagwons that don't go in until 1 or 2pm so they tend to meet up at 10pm many nights for bowling, drinking, and whatever though I can't keep up with them due to my hours.

^ Not your typical public school hours. But some of the specialized schools, like foreign language high schools, may have some teachers work those hours.

Your best bet is to go for those after school programs. I'm not sure how many are hiring (since they usually try to recruit teachers who are already working and want more hours) but you can probably find something somewhere.
