How complicated is it? My parents are coming here... they have valid licenses and they'll be in Seoul for a few days. Anyone know where/how they can get one? They want to rent a car in Jeju.

I'd do it, but the latest I've read is I can't if I live here permanently... which, judging that I've been here three years, maybe they'd know about because of my alien registration??

Anyway, any help is appreciated.

I don't think Korea will give you an internation drivers licence for Korea. Your parents could get theirs back in their own country though.

Parents American? They can go to the local AAA office. It takes 10 minutes.

From another country? Google it, I don't know, but it's easy.

In Korea? YOU can get an intl. license if you have a Korean license and have been here for 3 years, but you can't use it in Korea (and if issued in the US, you can't use it in the US, etc.)

Thanks, Bibbity. Yes, my parents are American. Sorry if I'm a moron, but what exactly is the AAA office...?

Google AAA locations, it's a roadside assistance co. It's easy to get. Cost $30 in 2007, they'll need 2 passport pics.
