dude, you're not going to get much interest at 750k. There was one on here recently at 500k and people complained about that price

People on this board always complain about any price. Smile However, I'll respect your comments and this coming weekend I'll go into stores and find what the new ones are selling for.

But really, I follow these boards for this type of stuff, and the only things that have been sold on here are plasmas, smaller LCD's, or no-name-brand ones this size. It's not easy to find many of these high-quality used TV's on the market.

I know you're trying to help me, but honestly, I don't believe you can find a TV this good for near 500,000 won. This is an LG LCD with 1080p full-definition (not high definition) with 50,000:1 contrast ratio, and still a year left under warranty. Exactly 12 months ago I paid 1.35 million for this TV. I've already knocked 45% off the original price, and it's still under full warranty.

Selling this at 500K means that some guy will be sitting there telling his friend, "Yeah, can you believe I got this TV for just 500K? What an amazing steal."

I'm not really interested in giving an "amazing steal" away. I'll give it away as a gift for a future favour before I sell the thing at 500K.

I would prefer to price it properly and wait for someone that values the TV and is interested in saving a good chunk compared to a new one. As I said, I'll go look in stores and find out what new ones are going for.

I appreciate your feedback though.

50,000:1 contrast ratio is akin to a car having 150 horsepower.

As a general rule of thumb. Used goods usually sell for 1/3 of the original purchase price. Bought at YongSan so probably got ripped off as well. Plus, recently plasma/LCD tv's were placed on the top ten list of things NEVER to buy used. Not to mention I just saw a 42inch LCD brand new at E-mart yesterday for 850. But good luck to you.

Tigershark...

"a" 42-inch LCD for 850k. As usual from the peanut gallery... no brand mentioned. Can you please post the brand? I think I keep saying the "brand" of mine...yet you quoted a price with no brand.

Also, "1/3 of their original price". haha Love to see the "quote" from someone knowledgeable in the industry that says that.

-- So a Nikon camera sells for 1/3 of its original price right after 1 year right?
-- And all the Apple computers sell for 1/3 of their original price right?
-- Oh, of course, 1-year-old Ipod Touches all sell for 1/3 of their original price too.

Also, I've read the article on the top 10 things not to buy.... funny article... basically just picked a bunch of electronics items... really mind-blowing if you ask me.

Skim...

no idea what you are talking about. I'm curious, what kind of TV do you have?

Thanks guys... I'm used to comments on the Dave's buy/sell forum... this is usual...keep it coming... at least it's entertaining...

You know, I'm usually one of the guys knocking prices for being too steep around here, but honestly, I find nothing wrong with yours. I highly doubt anyone would find a 1080p 40"+ at eMart for 850k won considering some of their smaller 720p sets sell for at least that.

Sometimes, lowballing gets wayyyyy out of hand here. Here is a GREAT example.

It's a fair price. Key word is FAIR. It's fair for the buyer, and fair to the seller. Just because you guys want a TV for dirt cheap doesn't mean you have to give him crap for a fair price.

Tiger Shark, 1/3 the price for something that is used? Rigghhhttt. KoreanAmbition already schooled you with the Apple and Nikon products thing he said, but I just wanted to add how idiotic what you said is. Maybe you can take 1/3 OFF the price, but after a year, something this valuable is definitely worth more than 1/3 the price.

It's 42 Inch nice friggin TV. If you want something for 500,000, start looking for a 32 inch.

I don't doubt that the price is fair since the same TV is 1,700.000 on GMarket now. I am interested.

Can you tell me what is the benefit of "XCanvas", I can't find anything about it in English. How is this high-end X-Canvas 42LG50FD be better than some low end LG Full HD model.

Its a good price... 750.000 won for what he is selling is a great bargain actually.. but that being said.. its a bargain now!...

but you will be able to buy the same TV next feburary at HIMART when they offer there sales of last years models for the same price...

so why wait one year! you wont get a better deal than this if someone is looking for a TV NOW...

dgove,

I completely agree that it's only a fair price. I believe that if I'm trying to entice current non-buyers, then my price is too high. My current strategy is that I'm not trying to appeal to non-buyers.

I posted this early in hopes of appealing to people that are already planning to be consumers in this market.

I put a lot of time into researching this product. In fact, when I bought this product I could have bought the NEWER MODEL for slightly cheaper. However, that would have been the low-end of the new models, whereas this was the mid-range of the previous models. I'd read so many good reviews of this exact model that I didn't go for the newer one because I was confident this TV was well-built. I could hardly find a store selling this model, and I would keep this TV until the tube wore out if I could... unfortunately, I can't.

Thanks for the support... and you're right, by next year it won't be a good deal. I'm not waiting that long, but unfortunately I need to wait a few months. Sad I'm hoping not much changes until then. Luckily, the TV will still have 9 months of warranty left.
