This came up in the CELTA thread and I'm interested...

Has anyone taken the DELTA? I know about their requirements, but just how much experience do you think you need to make it work? Is it worth anything in Korea? How hard is it to get a trainer job with a DELTA? This is a medium-term plan for me, but definitely something I'm considering...

DELTA isn't so useful in Korea. I mean I'm sure it makes you a better teacher, but job prospects wise they won't even know what it is. Hell, they don't know what a CELTA is most the time. I'm interested in the DELTA too but pretty much for the sake of doing it.

I was looking at DELTA seems a bit expensive for my blood at this time. I'll just do the M.Ed seems it's the same price anyways.

What I'd be interested in, I mean if I were to leave to work in Indonesia or Vietnam or something would be the IDLTM. It's a diploma in language school management. Seems a fun way to mix my English teaching studies with my business training from uni. Again though, damn expensive! =(

Also, an idea about the DOS thing. I saw IH-Barcelona offers a course/certificate on DoS training. Anyone done that? It's only 30 hours, but they also offer a 30 hour course on teacher training as well. Yeah it's a bit short but I figure it's a neat way to spend a two or three week holiday. See Spain and do some professional development and such.
