|

Hey,
I have a wretched fear of flying and am going home this summer with my hubby and baby. I have tried both ativan and clonazepam. Ativan seems much stronger but I don't like the way it makes me feel - I get very forgetful - and a little loopy. Don't wanna feel that way when I have baby with me BUT it does the trick.
Clonazepam seems much better - I tried it for a trip to Boracay and I felt OK but I wonder if it's strong enough to get me through a 13 hour trip home? When I take it I feel perfectly normal sans panic attacks.
What do y'all take? What makes you feel the best?
Thanks^^ |

All my friends take Xanax. I haven't tried it yet, but actually when I was at incheon I went to the Yak and asked for Dramamine and they gave me something which was fantastic! I actually wasn't afraid - very strange for me. Had an enjoyable flight. |

You do realize Dramamine is not for anxiety right? It's the same as Gravol. I used to mix Gravol and wine before I knew about Ativan but just Gravol would have never cut it. Anyway you say Xanax is best? I'll look into it. ^^ |

Gees, what happened to having a couple of beers before the flight? This thread should be about pharm-flight junkies. |

^ Right, having a couple of beers is really helpful for someone who has a serious problem getting on a plane. If you don't know what you are talking about, then just keep quiet. You sound ignorant and you are making light of a real problem. Would you make fun of someone who asked about anti-depressants for depression? It's the same deal. |

That alcohol crud just dries you out while the high altitude dries you out even more. Alcohol is no good around flying. They couldn't serve me enough non-alcoholic bevs on a long flight unless I was able to just pack on about 2 of those 2L bottles of water and 2 more of OJ. All to hydrate me and swallow good pills like aspirin, xanax, and ambien. Vikingdins are great if you want to have fun as they give you a narcotic intoxication if you only take them on rare occasion. |
