I remember not so long ago when 'alright' instead of 'all right' was a sign of bad education, but nobody seems to be bothered about it now. Shows how quickly usage can change |

Dropping the 'll and 'r' is a result of pronunciation. It's common among rural folks, especially those who slur their speech. In my neck of the woods it's common to hear "awright." It has less to do with education than local speaking culture. |

I've been saying 'ite/aight since 1994 when I saw the amazing film, Surviving the Game. |

What do you mean, "fashionable"? People from my area have been saying this since before I was born.

I don't think it's ebonics, people from the south say it with a draw. I can usually turn my southern draw on and off. Chicks dig it |

It's definitely redneck speak. Or ghetto. Basically, if you use it, you align yourself with wife-beater wearing slackjawed losers who live off the system and deserve nothing near any respectable status in society. I think the missing "lr" in the expression is nearly equivalent to negative 50 points on any IQ test. |

Who the eff are you? It's not redneck or ghetto, it's an accent. We know how to spell the words, we just say them differently. STFU, aiiight? |
