| Does anyone have any information about SLP in Yeoungdeung, Seoul. I did a search and nothing came up. I have read different posts about the franchise and some were good and some bad. I am looking for any recent information regarding this specific location. |

I'll make this simple for you.
READ THE CONTRACT!!!
you get to teach 21 periods of 80-90 minutes (1800 contact minutes) for the same money as the next hakwon monkey working 1500 minutes of contact time and a PS teacher doing 880 minutes of contact time.
You get 10 days holidays when the school lets you have them as compared to 4-6 weeks at a public school.
SLP=Slave Labor Program and it doesn't matter how nice it sounds.. you work twice as much for the same money.
IF you are desperate, take it... if you can hold out for a week or two you will get better.
Even Thailand pays better for class time than SLP. |

You can definitely do better, if you have the time to look around.
If you're looking to get started ASAP and SLP's the only one who's offering, then...you could do worse.
But the hours will be long, the mothers insufferable, the pay low, and you may or may not get all of the bonus stuff you should (pension, medical, sick days, etc.).
I worked my first year in Korea at SLP, it wasn't horrible, but it was definitely the worst of the four jobs I've had here and I would never work there again. |
