|
|
Hi there. I was accepted for EPIK a couple of years ago but had to pull out due to genuine health issues. It's all fine now, but I was rejected from EPIK this year. So I'm going to start applying for recruiters and trying to think of a reason to give why I can't do public school jobs. I'm thinking it's not a good idea let them find out I was rejected and why as I got the sense that EPIK were a bit funny about it.
Thought of saying I'd rather work evenings, which would be acceptable to me, but I don't really want to rule out normal daytime hours.
Also sure this has been done to death, but I'm probably an ok catch for an employer...CELTA B, voluntary experience..so any suggestions for types of places that may fit my initial preference of stability over massive earnings?
Thanks in advance. |

Recruiters are there to serve you. You don't need to tell them a thing. Just say " I don't want to work for EPIK/GEPIK." I wonder if SMOE would take you on?
The recruiter will still try to push jobs on you, but keep saying no and he'll get the hint. |

| That's a good idea. I'll certainly give SMOE a go. Thanks. |

In my opinion, the only thing 95% of recruiters care about is getting paid, so placing you in a job you will be priority. I doubt they will stop working with you only because you had a genuine health problem. But anyway, just tell them what you are looking for and eventually they will find it for you.
When I started looking for jobs in Korea, they kept offering me jobs in the countryside which I did not want. Eventually after turning them down again and again, they got the idea and placed me closer to Seoul.
Also, don't feel bad to use as many recruiters as possible to get the job you want. It's not like any recruiter ever will be only dedicated to finding you a job. If they find a candidate who might be more easily placed, chances are you will be put on the back-burner. |
