I just want to ask if using a teacher's image, ie., picture teaching, on a website, is legal, and this according to advertising laws, even after the teacher's left the school? |

I am pretty sure if they took the photo of you whilst you worked for them, they can use that picture for however long they want.
I work for an organisation and my boss frequently tells me it is ok to copy pictures of other websites and use them for out promotional material... |

The first part of your post is probably right. There is probably something in your contract that says they can use your image.
The second part about what your boss said is laughably wrong. Though it goes on all the time in Korea. |

An old school of mine still has photos of people up on the teachers board that used to work there...about 8 months ago. They probably still have my pic up. |

I know all of the above. But how about if they discontinued your contract for specious reasons?
What I mean is, how about if you and the manager didn't get along, iel., for personal/financial/discrimminatory reasons?
In other words, how about if they just wanted your face minus paying for you? |
