It's been ten days already. Should I worry? |

I think the only person who can assist someone of your rank is General Mills...
But seriously, if you sent everything to Korea, it's probably just a matter of time... but shoot an email to your recruiter if you have one... let them sweat with ya. |

It takes about 2 weeks. I wouldn't start to worry just yet. |

Yeah, it takes a bit of time for the confirmation number. I wouldn't worry quite yet. Mine took 9 days to get the last time. |

There seems to be something of a back-up at the moment. I submitted mine three weeks ago and still haven't heard anything.. |

Possibly one of the most asked questions on Dave's. 3 years ago I did not arrive until a week after the semester started in September because of the visa number delay. I thought it was going to ruin my opportunity or something, but it seems no one else was worried about it. Only me. |

It usually takes 2-3 weeks, but using myself as an example, my school did not even send my information to immigration yet and will not do so until Monday (keeping my fingers crossed). The response from the school was that since I wasn't starting until June 11th, they still had plenty of time. |

Waiting for the marching orders is exhausting. You don't get a lot of good sleep, you can't buy green bananas, and irrational thoughts of disaster haunt you constantly.
Don't worry, the immigration office is just incredibly bogged down. Any minute, you'll get your approval number and you'll need to pump up your Reeboks for the marathon ahead of you. I'm proof - I got my number recently, though it set me back a month. Praise Buddha for XBOX. |

I just sent my documents to Korea and was told by the school HR department that it could take 3-4 weeks. |

Took my school approximately 4 days to get my visa issuance number. My recruiter received my documents on Monday and I received an email today with the number. However, I accepted an offer in a smaller city so this may have something to do with it. |

It depends on the location of the school and the school itself. My school was very prompt and the immigration office they went to in Seoul was quick. From the time they took the documents to immigration it took them 3 days to get me a number.
The school might be sitting on it until they have time to go or the office could be backed up. |

My school, YBM, is in Seoul and submitted them on April 22nd. My boss said that I will know by May 12th. I don't know how he figures that since I personally called the immigration office and they told me they won't know when they will finish processing my paperwork. |
