My girlfriend is korean at a korean university(MA) and from what she tells me it seems like her professor is stealing her(and her classmates) work.
He publishes it in books, and gives presentations on it. Not a single attribution.
Doesn't seem like there's much she could do. Her professor is a leader in the field, and could black-list her with ease, as well as refuse to graduate her for stepping out of line(ie questioning his theft of her work).
I don't have any good advice for her, other than be difficult and polite at the same time. Any better ideas? |

Some of my class mates had a similar story. He did all the research and they wrote a paper on it and they didn't even include his name as a coauthor. There was nothing he could do about it if he wanted to graduate in time.
I have actually been advised not to be too helpful to the professors, because then they'll want me to stay because of my usefulness and wont let me graduate as fast. |
