Bought Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate, from South Africa. Parents posted it.

Still sealed in original box.

On the box I read .... " Activation restrictions" Distrubution and activation must occur in Middle East and Africa.

If I install it, will it work on my system.

I bought a PC - Samsung, and it has Windows 7 in KOREAN. So that is why I bought the English operating system.

Please let me know if it is okay to continue.

I have also treid to find Microsofts call centre tel number on the net, but no luck....

I would suggest partitioning your drive and trying it first. That way you'll have your old system still available should it not work. If all else fails, PM me and I might be able to help Wink

Hey O.P., if you are really that worried, know that Vista and Windows 7 allow you to change the language to English. On the Samsung you bought, go to the control panel (Start menu, 7 down from right) and then go to Clock, Language and Region (Icon of a clock and a globe). The 3rd tab from the left has a pull down menu with a list of all the languages you change to, English being one of them.

That will only change the keyboard input languages and the scripts that will be shown on web pages.

It will not change the language of the OS itself.....which is what I assume the OP wants to do.

OP, as I see it you have two choices.

1. Sit with someone who understands Korean and go through the OS language change procedure. You'll need to download a file from Microsoft which contains the English files for the OS. Install and re-boot. I've heard it's not that easy.

2. Reformat your HDD to wipe out the Korean windows and then install your English W7. Luckily, W7 has awesome driver support so this is much easier than it used to be in the days of XP.

XP.

Hmmm, so I guess it was fluke that I was able to change my O.S. from Korean to English in the Clock, Language and Region area. Lucky me.

Ah. So you did actually install the language pack. I misread your post thinking you just changed the keyboard input language.
