I would like to invite my filippina girl friend from Philippines to Korea. What would I have to do to help her to get a trourist visa? Are there any other option?
To my understanding, unless you are wealthy (relative to other filippinos) or stable job, you couldn't get a tourist visa to Korea. Is there any ways i can sponsor her to come over?
Any information or experiences of bring over filippina over would be helpful.
Thank you. |

You can only sponsor your girlfriend if you are Korean.
Your girlfriend need to apply for the tourist visa in the Philippines and provide bank account information, any property she owns and if she is working. |

Unless she or her family are incredibly wealthy (by Filipino standards - Ayala family perhaps?) there is NO chance of bringing her here on a tourist visa.
You have 3 choices.
1) Marry her and get her an F3 or
2) visit her in the Philippines on your holiday breaks or
3) meet somewhere in between (like HongKong) where she doesn't need a visa.
They won't let you sponsor her because YOU are not a citizen or permanent resident and YOU have no legal responsibility for or in relation to her.
She would (in the eyes of immigration) have no reason to leave Korea when she is done her visit... she might burn you for the sponsorship and then go TnT... (become an illegal migrant worker).
Sorry dude...
Oh, and side note:
Filipina (single "P")
Philippines (double "P")
Pinay (lady from the Philippines).

My Filipina wife recently came here on a tourist visa. I am on an E1 visa and after our marriage in Cebu she applied at the Korean embassy (in Manilla) for a spouse/family/dependant visa (with a letter of invitation from my university, copy of our marriage license, etc). But for some reason they gave her a C-3tourist visa instead (and trust me, she and her family have NO money, haha!). Then when she arrived in Korea we went to immigration and changed the tourist visa to a spouse/family/dependent visa. |

Here's a hypothetical question:
Say you're a permanent resident here (F5visa) could you sponsor a girlfriend from the Philippines or somewhere else? Is that possible? |

If he marries her then no worry... but an unmarried Pinay has NO chance without more money that you and I have (combined).

Of course she could do like hundreds (thousands??) of other Filipinas and come here on an "entertainer" visa or a factory worker visa or a student visa (regular student or language student); but you are right about the chances of her getting a tourist visa, TP. |

Can you imagine what Korea and the job market would be like if we could import our Filipina girlfriends here? |

I need to find me a nice girl from the philippines. If I marry her and she's got a kid, my disability from the Army will go up 200 dollars per month. Plus I'm lonely. Any suggestions? |

That $200 would go right back to her family. You know the deal when it comes to Filipinas. |

Simply make it clear BEFORE marriage or relationship that you have NO intention of supporting her family. Any money you earn goes to support you and her (plus any kids). End of story. |

In theory that sounds good, but it will never work.
No money=no sex.
Its interesting I've meet about 7 filipinas in the past year. All divorced from Korean men but still living in Korea.
Wonder why they are all divorced and no more interest in foreign men. |

Culturally speaking, that isn't gonna happen unless they were born abroad and white washed as hell. |

Worked for me in two long term (not marriage) relationships. Maybe you're looking in the wrong places...

I'm not doubting you, but I can't believe you brought a filipina girlfriend from the Phillipines to Korea while you worked. How did you get around immigration laws? |
