I have no idea how to do this but I'm curious about anyone who can. From what I understand you can build one cheaper than buying it.

I just recently went thru the same questions. I wanted to build my own computer but once I started looking around, it was only a few man won more to have someone else do it. There are literally thousands of places in Yongsan that will build a computer for you for damn near free. You choose the specs, or tell them what you want and your budget and they'll work with you on how to get a good computer.

Unless you want the experience of building a computer, just go to Yongsan and have someone else do it in less than an hour.

It's a bit cheaper, but more importantly you can choose what areas to focus your money in. If your not into games you can get a low end graphics card and a better CPU or harddrive. If you are into games you can bypass the quadcores and put more into ram and graphics. There are tutorials and youtube guide for every step of the process, not that it's terribly complicated. The only thing that tends to confuse me is plugging in the front of case panel stuff to the motherboard. Obviously if you don't already have a computer at home it could be hard to get the guides when you need them.

I'm not a big gamer. I really only play a few games eg. Rainbow Six, NBA LIVE or the 2k stuff, and Civilization stuff.

Mostly for those few games, surfing the net and my wife's pics and editing pics. We have Photoshop elements.

That's all we need right now. I'm in the Daegu area.

Anyone wanna shoot me an idea of parts they would recommend for this pc?

There are only really two reasons to build your own;

1. You like doing it!

2. You're picky about the specific models and brand names of the components (because you overclock or you just like to know you have reputable brand names in your PC).


Otherwise, as said above, if you aren't a power-user, it's probably best to order a system online and have it delivered. You might even get a printer or something thrown in.


But if you really want to build the thing yourself just for fun.....then say so and I'll suggest some stuff.

If you have a chance getting into yongsan on a saturday. I picked up a 9800 GT at the open market at shinhan plaza for 98,000 won. It plays pretty much what's out there at average setting and older ones at full setting. Worked out very well IMO. Other stuff is pretty much standard.

It's not hard to build your own - the parts are simple plug in's and they only fit one way.

On the other hand, you can have it done for you while-you-wait and watch while they do it for about 20k won at yongsan.

Some places will build it for free if you buy all the parts from them.

OR, you can just go along, look at the prices and boxes advertised and make your best deal.
