Specifically I am looking for at least a 12 (300 in Korean) or a 13 (310). And I am most interested in buying decent dress shoes, though I am interested in all places where I can buy any types of shoes at my size or larger. Everywhere I look I see up to size 280 or so, but nothing larger. Itaewon? Not sure where to go.

Does anyone have experience buying online and having shoes shipped here? How long does it take to get through immigration coming from a company?

I did a search and came up with nothing as the search doesn't work so well.

Yeah large shoes can be bought in Itaewon, but I'm not sure about decent dress shoes. Being Itaewon, most of the places are overpriced and there's a lot of knock-offs. BUT if you really need shoes, you can find them there.

I could use some new dress shoes myself, anyone else know someplace where you can get large (315) ones?

There's a shop in Itaewon where I bought some decent dress shoes (US 13). It's on the side of the street opposite Hamilton Hotel and down a few doors towards McDonalds. The sign is red and white and has an image of a red footprint. In the front of the store there are some hiking shoes and boots; the dress shoes are towards the rear.

You might also try a Kumkang store in Myeong-Dong or Jong-no (near Insa-dong). They have some "supersize" shoes (I think this means up to size 310).

Another store in Itaewon is Big Sister, not only for shoes, clothes too.

I have a pair of 13 Timberland shoes I am willing to sell. Its the style shown in link, but the leather is black nubuck.

New with Timberland tag.

I buy most of my shoes online. eBay.

The last pair of shoes that I bought in Itaewon definitely turned out to be fakes...they completely fell apart like no other pair of shoes I have ever owned, and they were 90,000 won....but I bought a pair of basketball shoes from a shop up one of the alleys and they were fine.

I use www.shoebuy.com and just have them sent to my dad's house with the free shipping and then he sends them on...but it's risky because if they don't fit right you're pretty much out of luck. I have a couple pairs of shoes that are really slightly too big for me because I wear either 14 or 15 depending on the brand...of course I just wear them. I'd rather have shoes that are too big than too small.

Thanks for the replies. I knew there must be larger shoes available somewhere. It amazes me how I see some Koreans who are quite large, yet their feet are still rather small.

Guava - how long does it take for you to receive the shoes you buy on ebay?

Air76 - Same question for you. How long does it take for you to get the shoes from your dad?

Thanks.

Usually a week...but that's partially because you have to send via Airmail now...so it isn't necessarily that much cheaper as it could be $50 to send 2 pairs, but at least you get what you want.

I think that a lot of the deal with big Koreans having small feet is that they are just used to wearing shoes that don't fit right. When I was in Brazil, where there are tons of large people, you couldn't find large shoes at all...and you'd see huge dudes clearly wearing size 12 shoes that were too small. I don't think that Brazilians had small feet for their height, they were just accustomed to squeezing in to the smaller shoes. I am sure that it's the same here.
