Just wanted to let everyone out there know about this. So the Chinese International School in Seoul (which is a fantastic school by the way) tried to let some guy start an English Immersion School within it. I learned very quickly that he does not have the ability to think ahead and now, surprise surprise, he has failed. Some hagwon owner has come in and bought the right to the lease on the building inside the International School (the real school). The point of this post is to warn all job seekers out there. If you see an ad for a position at this school starting before September, it is NOT the Chinese International School, it is a hagwon. If you see a job offer starting in or after September at the Myeong Dong Chinese International School (Han Seong Hwa Elementary School), it could be at the actual school, or it could be at the Hagwon - be careful. The guy running the new thing is very typical hagwon. He didn't want to keep me on at his school when he bought it out from the other guy because my salary was too high and vacation too long. I have a Master's in Education, 8 years experience, and am a certified teacher in the U.S. Why would you want an experienced, licensed, well-recommended teacher to teach at your school? Beats me!!!! Oh yeah, because you don't give a **** about education, $$$$$$$$$$$
Anyway, enough of my rant...sorry...just got my notice today. Beware. |
