Anybody know what's the minimum legal annual holiday entitlement of an English teacher in a hakwon on an E2 visa?

Article 55 of the KLSA states:

"An employer shall allow a worker on the average one or more paid holiday per week."

Which doesn't mean you get a weekday off, just any day of the week. Most hakwon workers get the weekends off so that fullfills that requirement.

You should also get Korean holidays off as well.

But apart from the above it's a contractual issue. What does your contract say?

When he emailed me the contract it said 15 days ON TOP OF public holidays, which was ok. When I met him in person and he wanted me to sign it was 15 days INCLUDING public holidays. And as there will be 9 public holidays in the contract year, that would leave only 6 days.

If you haven't signed yet...I'd pass. Most hakwons offer ten days plus holidays.

But there is no legal requirement beyond what I posted above.
