Looks like I'll be taking an after school gig in Icheon. What kinda stuff is there to do around town? Not worried about the trip to Seoul or whatever cause I got some friends to stay with in the city, just looking for what I might do during the week. Also, if you live in Icheon hit me up and we'll get together sometime so you can show a newbie (to the area, not Korea) around.

There's a thriving arts scene with a lot of indie bands, natural food stores that carry local and European brews, and a lot of hipsters who you may even be able to score some good green from.

Thanks. I don't smoke so I'll pass on the green, but if there's some good bands, and places to get out of the apartment that should keep me sane.

Sorry man, I was being sarcastic as I don't think there's anything going on in Icheon worth mention. I wouldn't have said it if you supported the Wolfpack. Even the Blue Devils.

I went there for an interview. The town doesn't have a university, ahiyaya.
Icheun is world(?) famous for rice production, according to the brochure. My guess is that there isn't much else.

Icheon has spas. Beyond that, not much. It's pretty spread out too. There are parts of Icheon that are near universities, like Janghowon. They're hardly vibrant areas though.

That's messed up man. It's cool though. If there's really not anything to do in Icheon I can simply read about all the championships my team has won.

And thanks everyone else. The position seems too good to pass up so I'll probably suck it up.

Assuming there is a bus that goes to Seoul from Icheon, how long does it take?

What time does it stop running?

Considering a position there as well for late March...

thanks

Hynix is in Icheon and it's something of a company town. It's also known for pottery, a spa, and of course some "good tasting rice." The hotel that has the spa is very pretty, has many weddings, and you've got a chance at finding a foreigner or two in the bar. My boyfriend was staying there when we met. and we tried the dinner buffet. It was overpriced, but did have a live band that entertained us with their funny Konglish.
