Okay, it looks like no Korean station will air the Floyd Mayweather-Shane Mobley fight Sunday, May 2 (Korean Standard Time), so I guess the best way to watch it is in Itaewon at a bar with the South African satellite dish.
Another fight worth watching is Yuri Foreman vs. Miguel Cotto June 6 (KST). Hopefully Foreman beats Cotto, goes down to welterweight and then becomes a legit opponent for Manny Pacquiao.
Paul Williams, the so-called most avoided boxer in the sport, has fought at welterweight. I wonder if a big payday against Pacquiao would be enough for Williams to go down in weight.

I'm looking forward to the Mayweather-MoSley fight too.
If Mosley comes out against Mayweather like he did against Margarito...he's got a shot. Would love to see Mayweather get beaten down. On the other hand....kinda want to see Pacquiao-Mayweather...grrrr!
Mosley is a confessed doper. I thought he looked juiced in the Margarito fight. He did however agree to Mayweather's additional drug testing. The same drug testing schedule that Pacman refused.
So, I either expect him to come in a little weak(he's not getting any younger) or perhaps he was clean and just in top form against Margarito. If he was, hopefully he has maintained that great combination of speed, power, strength and endurance. |

I dont think Mosley has been juicing for a long time.
I dont rate Yuri Boreman at all. His fights are generally awful to watch. The fact that the fight is in Yankee stadium definitely gets me interested. I'm pretty sure that Foreman couldn't make welterweight and the only reason Pacquiao would face him would be to try and take Foremans light middleweight belt for another world title in a different weight class.
Williams has stated recently that he can still make welter. There is no doubt if he could get a fight with pacquiao he would take it. There is no way Pacmans team would agree to fight him though. Too much risk with too little reward.
Pacman will wait to see who wins between mosley and mayweather. Thing is I just dont see the mayweather fight ever being made and if Mosley wins he would have to rematch mayweather. I think pacquiao will either fight Margarito (which is a big possibility), Valero (if he can sort out his issues), Barrera (the first two were controversial) or bradley. |

I don't see Mobley winning because he hasn't fought in 16 months and he has basically not had much luck after going up to welterweight. Who knows, an upset could happen, though I expect Fairweather Fighter to win on points.
Andre Berto, whose fight with Mobley was canceled in Jan. because of the Haitian earthquake, could be Pac-man's next opponent but it really would be intriguing to see Williams make welter and fight Pac-man.
I disagree that Pac-man would refuse to fight Williams since Pac-man fights whoever is out there (but perhaps the negotiations will be drawn out to attract more interest and revenue). |

I don't get the "Mobley" joke (I'm assuming it's not a typo).
I'd like to see Mayweather FIGHT and not just rely on his check-hook and foot work. I want shane to pressure him, but of course that would just play into mayweathers plan. |

I want a good fight but of course, a Mayweather victory can ensure a huge payday against Pac-man.
I also hear promoters also want Pac-man's next opponent to be more exciting. The extended punching session Pacquiao had against Clottey, who did just enough to not get knocked out, was exactly a crowd pleaser. |

I've been thinking about it lately, and I think I'd like to see an adjusted scoring system that scores higher for aggression.
I would like the refs to start deducting more points for initiating clinches, too. Mosley's getting bad for that now. He fires a shot, and then if it's blocked, moves in close to smother any counter punches. Come to think of it, I don't think Mosley/Maywether is actually going to be very exciting. With Mayweather's refusal to engage, and Mosley's tendency to clinch (or at least get in too close to allow counters), it may just be a snooze-fest.
12-round UD Mayweather. |

Anyway, it sucks that KBS N Sports is not airing big boxing matches anymore; the last one it aired was the fight (well, almost a fight) between Pac-man and Ricky Hatton.
So Joe Boxer, what do you think of Berto? A friend of mine who is a big boxing fan says from what he's seen, Berto is VERY beatable. |

I love boxing as a sport and a profession, but I don't follow it as much as the real fans do. I watch TONS of boxing, but mostly multiple viewings of older fights, for study purposes. So... I've never seen Berto fight!
Btw, I totally miss the big shows that Korea used to air/pirate live on Sunday mornings. My first weekend in Korea, I was treated to a live broadcast of lewis vs Rahman I. A year later, and it was Tyson/lewis. Some big fights for free. It was sweet while it lasted! |

Berto is defeintely beatable and would probably lose to Mosley, Margarito, Mayweather and Pacquiao. I think its a good thing for him that the mosley bout was cancelled because he would of got a beatdown. Did you see the fight from last week with Quintana. He was clearly pretty emotional after Haiti and was deperate to get quintana out of there which he did. It was a pretty messy fight but I don't understand the criticism of Berto after the fight by the boxing press. He did what he had to do. He is still young and will get better. He does clinch way too much.
I'm psyched about the Martinez vs Pavlik fight tomorrow night. I really think Martinez's movement and footspeed will lead to an exciting UD. What do you think Yaya? Martinez has always competed well in the big fights but has never won one (although he got robbed against cintron and lost a controversial decision to paul williams.) I've got some invites to a great boxing private tracker site if you need your boxing fix.
As for Mosley vs mayweather. I like Mosley in this fight even if he hasn't fought in 16 months. How many proper welterwights has Mayweather really fought? none! Mosley is a really strong welterweight that has speed. I think he will get to Mayweather. It depends which Mosley shows up though. He was awesome against Margarito but looked pretty bad against Mayorga before that. |

I'm not that knowledgable about Pavlik but I know he lost to Williams. I'm thinking Williams would beat him in a rematch.
Bob Arum says he would pick Mosley if this fight happened five years ago. The thing is, if Mosley wins, that means Pac-man-Mayweather will get delayed again because of the rematch clause. The likely fighter for Pac-man is Antonio Margarito if Mayweather doesn't happen. |

Pavlik just lost to Sergio Martinez and you CAN watch the Mayweather-Mosley fight if you hit Itaewon. |

That was a great fight last night. Martinez absolutely schooled Pavlik. Pavlik is so one-dimensional its untrue! There is a rematch clause for another fight but I can't see Pavlik enforcing it. He needs to move up in weight.
Pavlik never fought Williams. There was just a lot of hype about a potential matchup. It never happened as they couldn't agree to the money. Williams narrowly beat Martinez in his last fight but many people thought he won.
If you can't get to Itaewon just download it. you'll be able to get hold of it 4 or 5 hours after its finished. |
