Does anyone know of a good place to stay in Geoje? I am going there this weekend, and can't seem to find anything on the hotel/hostel search engines.

there are loads of love motels here in geoje (gohyeon) if you come out of the bus station just take a RIGHT and go towards town, you will see loads of them on the side streets. Take your pick. I couldn't tell you the prices of them though. I have stayed in one here though, it was nice enough, and about 2 mins from the town area.

You could also try the geoje toruist hotel, I think it's nice enough, but not too modern and not as good as some good love motels and has a nightclub below it. (which goes till quite late and would be noisy if you wanted sleep) it is also just opposite jazz bar.

Also there should be loads of foreigners hanging out in jazz bar (just the name, it's not actually a jazz bar) on saturday night. it's close to WA Bar, so if you find it, walk past it (so you are walking away from dunkin donuts) and you will see it up to your right hand side in one of the alleys.

EDIT: I said left instead of right in the original post.

Thank you! That helps a lot. Would you advise taking a ferry or bus from Busan?

Take the ferry. It's only about 55 minutes to gohyeon. Other ferries run to janseung po and okpo but as I say to anyone who asks, gohyeon is much better than okpo...less hils for a start and the ESL teachers all tend to go out in gohyeon. There is also a cinema here too, just down in homeplus.

If you get a ferry to gohyeon then you will dock in either of 2 places, one of them will be at the very bottom of the harbour shere you come out, take a left, walk up to the intersection and take another left ( you will walk past all the flags) they are doing some construction on the main road so you will have to cross the road half way up, the main town of gohyeon is on the side you will cross to. anyway keep walking away from the ferry area and you will come to another large intersection and you take a right and you will see the bus station, then you can follow my directions from before.

The other place the ferry pulls into is half way up the main road, where the construction work is taking place (just after all the flags for the countries around the world). Just cross the road, follow the footpath to your left, again you will come to the intersection, take a right and you will see the bus station.

If you feel like going around the island you can get a bus from that bus station for only 1,000 and it will take you whereever it is destined to go. all buses around the island are 1,000 won.
