Hey all,
I am looking to travel to Korea to teach. A good buddy of mine is also interested. Just wanted to ask - what are the opportunities like for two guys travelling together getting work at the same hogwan, and also sharing an apartment? Is it possible to do this and still get decent jobs at reputable schools? Thanks a million. This is the one place I find I can come when I have a question and get it answered, with many different peoples opinions! Again, thanks.

many hogwans advertise for 'couples' placements....
others, i'm sure, would also welcome the idea...considering it's cheaper to house 2 people in one place with one TV, one fridge...etc.
just be careful about how you present the idea, or they may think you two will only need one bed....

Many places will welcome two people sharing. What may also happen is that you can work at separate hogwans close to each other and share. Not an unusual situation here. It's better for all concerned in the long run and it's great to have a support network handy, by way of a good friend. Smile

Agree with Cache, find out the size of the apartment.
The size of a regular apartment in which the director will put you in here here is about 2 rooms in the west, around 12-14 pyoeng for 2. Try to find out the size, 22 up is good(I'm being picky I know but you have to live there).
