Hey guys,
I've got controlled epilepsy (in other words if I take my medication, I'm fine... its really hasn't been an issue for years) and take epilem/valpro and lamictol/lamotrigine for it (scuse the spelling). I'm assuming there are a few of you guys in a similar position.
My questions are...
1. How do they look on this in korea
2. Should I mention it to immigration/visa people/that sort of thing (its not really an issue for me any more, but I guess its a medical condition)
3. Can I get these medications in Korea
4. Are they expensive as hell
5. Can I bring in like a years supply or will Australian customs say... no way!
Thanks guys... pretty important questions for me |

don't mention it - talk to your dr back home and make arrangements to have your meds shipped to you.
believe me, you don't even want to deal with the q&a about it overseas |

I'm a controlled epileptic as well, so I can give you some pointers
1. How do they look on this in korea
Don't mention it. You will NOT get the job if they think you have epilepsy (or any other similar condition), especially at a public school. Not sure about Hagwons but I wouldn't mention it. I was turned down for a job for mentioning mine.
2. Should I mention it to immigration/visa people/that sort of thing (its not really an issue for me any more, but I guess its a medical condition)
Nope
3. Can I get these medications in Korea
No idea, I just brought a years supply from home.
4. Are they expensive as hell
Dunno
5. Can I bring in like a years supply or will Australian customs say... no way!
I was able to bring a years supply with no problem, I brought a note from my Neurologist just in case, but it wasn't needed. As long as they're in the original bottles with your name on them they should be okay. I'm American, not Australian so it might be different for you. |
