I've been looking somewhat casually for awhile and it seems that all the openings in Seoul or even Busan require experience. Is it possible to land a job without it?

I was offered a job in "the museum without walls" but got cold feet about not being in a major city.

Anyone get work in larger cities without previous experience?

Thanks!

I can't answer your question, but you might want to consider jobs in Gyeonggi-do also, which is the small province that surrounds Seoul. From my experience, most of the cities in this province are modern, clean, and mostly have large supermarkets and other amenities you'll probably need. For most of the cities, you can get to Seoul by city bus within an hour and it costs about $1 each way. If you really need to be in the action in Itaewon or Hongdae every weekend it's a little inconvenient, but the night life in places like Bundang and Bucheon isn't bad at all. I loved my location in Yongin.

IMHO, many (I've been counseled not to use the word 'most') teachers begin their careers in Korea with a lot of them starting in the major cities. Therefore, I don't see that you would have a major problem eventually finding a job in Seoul/Busan.

Korea is becoming more competitive and especially popular places like Seoul. Public schools do require Level G for Seoul (teaching exp, TEFL, BEd etc). Private schools too like some qualifications.
