If having completed the CRC last year, and I have been in Korea for a year now, do I have to complete a new CRC completed when changing places of employment? There will be no break between the university contracts and I will not be leaving the country. Being Canadian, there seems to be more hoops to jump through. Thanks. |

Visa transfer with LOR then just local paperwork and some legwork.
NEW visa means a WHOLE NEW set of documents for immigration.
There are not that many hoops to jump through for a Canuk,
Get ahold of the Winterpeg police service. Their turnaround is about 30 days for your CRC. When you get it, take it to the embassy in Seoul and swear an affidavit to the effect that it is real, true and accurate,
Use that along with your diploma (or embassy certified copy) to get your new visa,
Do your visa run, start your new job, get your medical and get your new ARC.
It ain't rocket science and it ain't that hard to do.

Thanks for the quick response. What if I am not from Manitoba? I thought you had to be from the same province for a local or provincial CRC. I know from personal experience that the RCMP will not release a CRC or VSS overseas. Turn around is just one day(in Alberta) but it must be done in person. But you're saying the Winni-pigs will send it to me if I apply? That's good to know.
I also heard that you can have the CRC done in Korea by the Korean police service if you have maintained residency here. Do you know anything about that?
BTW the hoop I was referring to was the VSS.
