Hey All-

I've been trying to find more videos on youtube of what people's apartments look like that received their apartment through EPIK/GEPIK but haven't found more than 5ish.

I wonder how many people have single beds vs. double/queen beds and I also wonder how many people have one room apartments vs. multiple room apartments etc. Smile

Care to shed any light?

Most of the teachers I've met actually have the exact same model single bed. Generally the city apartments are small one-rooms.

Though I moved to a larger officetel and got a double bed when I renewed.

I was given a 2 bedroom apartment because I asked. Came with a single bed. The other foreign teacher at my school was given a tiny studio apartment.

I would say it depends on where you live. My buddy has an, albeit kind of crusty, 3 bdrm apartment. Sweet gig for him. A bitch to heat though, apparently.

Myself and most others in my city live in one rooms, partitioned off in villas. They are comfortable, but small. Mine is on the larger end of the scale for one rooms but has no sunlight. My old place was tiny but had glorious sunshine every morning. Mad You win some, you lose some.

There is a huge thread around here, jam packed with great photos of peoples apts. Good luck finding it.

Maybe posters can post their apt photos in this thread? I will post my place, if you ask nice.

How did you ask for a 2 bedroom apartment? Was that before or after you arrived? What program did you go through?

I hear Busan's apartments are pretty tiny.

"May I please have a larger apt?"

Easy.

Dear Senior,

May I please see some pictures? Smile

yeah, I tried looking for a while about a past thread as I'm sure people posted it somewhere and I couldn't come up with anything. And not all the information I find is for public schools, a lot of people seem to teach at private schools so I figured that housing may differ a lot???

What program supplied everyone's house?

Mine's great, and not in a bad location. It's complete luck of the draw, usually.

ㅋㅋ, since you asked nice. I will put some up tomorrow.

Mine is through EPIK. My school found the place, I think.

These videos are really useful. The more I read around the site my expectations get lower and lower, but it's nice to see some pretty nice places. Granted I'm currently in college and my recent housing has consisted of a tiny dorm and a tiny house that's 60 years old, but either way Korean apartments don't seem too bad.

I've got a 2 room place at my school. Yes, at my school. It's part of the teacher apartments on the school campus. Nice for the commute and after lunch siestas, sucks for basically everything else.

sucks like when you're screaming at night cause you're watching a game, but the teachers in the other rooms think you're screaming cause you're lonely? Razz

Ha. I feel the same way (about expectations getting lower). I see these little tiny apartments in all the videos. But it does seem like it's just by the luck of the draw basically.

I just wonder if it'll say the bed size in the contract, or are we just supposed to get sheets once we are there?
