|

The FBI website says it can take up to 12 weeks for their CRC. I am renewing my contract and only have about 10 weeks tops to get it done and get an apostille.
How long in this board's experience is the turnaround on getting the CRC back from the FBI? |

See the topic.....maybe two below yours. You didn't look too hard, did you? It's literally the same topic with 3 pages of replies.
In response to your question: No one knows. Some people who sent theirs in late September are getting them back now; some people who sent theirs in at the beginning of November are getting them back now, too. It's like a random drawing or something. It COULD take a month, it could take 3. There's no way to tell. |

Send in for it now, but you probably aren't going to get it for 12 weeks. I looked through the other topic (which is the same as yours) and 12 weeks seems to be the average. Keep in mind that the apostille from the US State dept. will take 3 weeks. |

I don't think anyone that I have heard of hot it in a month. Some have gotten their credit card charged in a matter of weeks, but no document back yet. |

You can also use one of the apostille services that will do it in a day but those postings are also all over the board if you look. |

Yes, but these cost upwards of $200-300, IIRC. Depending on where you live, it might be easier to just take a day or two off of work, drive to DC, and get it done there. |

Friend of a friend got her FBI background in 6 weeks. Maybe it's the time of year. People were saying 12 weeks processing during the summer time. Submitted approx. mid October and got it back late November.
Yes you can do the apostille fairly quickly. If it's signed and seal by the FBI,
1. You can drive to DoS
2. Expedited apostille service can provide the federal apostille in 4-5 business days or state apostille in 1-2 business days. www.apostillepros.com
3. Normal process, submit it in yourself, it takes about 3-4 weeks.
4. If it's not sign and seal by FBI, just notarize it and apostille in state. Some state don't let you do that. Other states like California let you notarize it and apostille.
Once you get an apostille affixed, it should be accepted, according to Hague Convention rule.
