Ive worked in Korea for four years for the same employer and any time they booked flights for me as part of the contract they always booked direct flights from London to Seoul or Seoul to London.

My new job just booked me a flights from London to Seoul via New Delhi with a 12 hour layover and a total travel time of 33 Hours.

Should I be mad?

You can't compare your old employer to your new employer. Unless they specifically promised you direct flights, there's nothing to be mad about. It's a horrible journey time with a dreadful layover, and was probably booked because it was the cheapest. You don't have to be happy about it, but at least you've no worries about getting your airfare reimbursed.

I see the feeble 'joke' brigade has taken over this thread like so many others on this forum. An ever worsening symptom of its decline.

I ate two slices of pizza for lunch instead of one, and now I'm too full.

Actually it is the Original Post that is the joke. We are pointing that out in "Funny Ways". The point is, when someone is in the situation of the OP, ONLY that individual can decide if the situation makes them mad or not. I think it would be fun to have the New Delhi 12 hour layover. In my case, it would be my first time there, and maybe my only chance. It might be nice to experience that before returning to Evil or Very Mad .

He phrased it slightly strangely but reading between the lines I guess he wanted to know if this was normal and if he would be out of line complaining about it.

Also, if he is a Brit. they love to point out that when an American says mad, that means crazy, and we are supposed to say angry. Maybe the post was supposed to be a joke.

I just slapped myself in the face. Should I be mad? The answer is, of course, yes. In fact, I should beat the hell out of myself for doing that. I don't condone violence generally, but if pushed too far, then I believe it is appropriate. Please don't judge me for kicking my own ass.

I worked in the ROK for nearly 2 decades. Should I not be totally mad!? More maddening is late arrival to this nonsensical madness thread.
