i plan to go down there maybe monday or tuesday. then from what i believe, you have to return perhaps a week later to pick up the visa. i won't be able to do it by post.

6 months ago, if you can call that recent. I sent my documents via post. It arrived on the Monday. I picked it up from the embassy the following Monday as that was the earliest I could get it (5 working days means 5 full working days not that it'll be ready on the 5th day). They don't open until 10am for picking stuff up (if I remember rightly). Didn't need to take anything with me except some photo ID. That should about cover it. What else do you need to know?

5 working days min to pick up your visa.

My experience of going there in person is not 'recent', but I'm sure they still close for a rather long lunch break, so you should get there as early as poss. otherwise you have to sit outside in the cold and rain until they re-open - even when you've reached the counter with 10 mins to spare before lunch, they can still say 'well, this is going to take me longer than 10 minutes to process, so you'll have to come back after lunch and queue all over again.'
