I'm not looking for recommendations for a school library or anything. I am am administering a speaking test and one of my students asked me for some reading suggestions. He is a 3rd grade MS student, has lived the States and still has a high level of skill. He prefers reading fantasy (He has already read most Neil Gaiman, I suggested Artemis Fowl), and said he would like to try biographies or autobiographies. He wants to be an economist, so anything that relates to that, at his reading level, would be great.
Thanks. |

If he's reading Gaiman, try "The Sandman" Gaiman's awesome Graphic Novel Series. But if you want to stick to actual novels. I suggest anything by Guy Gaverial Kay.

Fish head Soup, are you Vorhees? Seems like a plug. (Although I have used a different one of his books). What he wants is reading material to work with on his own. He is basically one of the 5 highest level kids in my school. I'd really appreciate input from anyone who can tell me autobiographies, biographies, or economics for young adults though (is there anything like that?).
Rutabaga, since you admitted the plug, I'll look! I think he has already read everything by Neil Gaiman. I'll check GGK, though, the name rings a bell. Thanks! |
