After visiting Technomart for the first time today and realizing all the computer games they had were the Korean versions, I was just wondering when SC 2 comes out next month where would us foreigners be able to find the American version? Is there anywhere in Seoul? I know you could probably download it but I buy games so rarely I like to have the physical copy |

| I've been playing the Beta for a few months now (phase 2 just closed) and the game is scheduled to be released in the States at the end of July. I would assume that SK would be getting it around the same time. I'm actually surprised that it is coming out so soon because the game still needs a lot of tweaking. |

| Some of my students have played SC 2. They all seemed to like it. I don't know if they played a Korean or English version though. |

I've only played on the English client.
My opinion of the game so far is that it is just a dumbed down version of SC1 with roided out graphics. A lot of the strategy is more cookie cutter and the balance between the 3 races is nowhere near the level of SC1. It is however still in the beta test phase. I see the game being more like WC3 in terms of it taking quite a bit of time after the release date to get things to balance correctly. |

I assume you'll be able to buy an English copy online as soon as it's released. I cannot think of a reason why you can't preorder it.
My friend installed the beta on my computer that is in Korean. I would be surprised if Korea had to wait long after the US release.

I'm sure that when it does get released, Korea will shut down.
Speaking of Blizzard, I'll be waiting for Diablo 3. (I hope that they still have the necromancer character.) |

Oreo,
There is only 1 more class that has not been released for D3 and it will most likely be some sort of ranger (amazon, rogue etc).
THe Witch Doctor is sort of a Necromancer.
As for SC2 when the game hits the shelves the client will be able to be downloaded online so you can play on US servers with the US client in South Korea no problem. |

Remember that you'll only be able to play with people with the same version of the game as yourself. (Unless they change something.)
I played both the Korean and the European version of the beta, and I'm planning to buy the Korean version. For multiplayer it's no problem to play in Korean even though you don't understand what they are saying. But if you want to play team matches it can be a little challenging to communicate with your team mates. For single player I guess you'll miss out on some of the story...
Comparing SC2 with SC1 will usually end up very subjective. I believe lot of people who dislike SC2 just dislike change, and I think SC2 will end up really good. It will of course not be as balanced as SC1 at launch, but I think it can get there. I also think the game will make more transitions and strategies viable than in SC1, where for example TvT and ZvZ is very predictable except for a few decisions in the beginning.
When it comes to downloading. It seems to me that most Blizzard games can be downloaded from Battle.net now as long as you've registered it there. So if you can't get your hands on a copy in Korea you might just need a friend to buy a copy and email you the CD-key. Then you can register it at Battle.net and download it. I found this out when I was trying to find somewhere to download Diablo 2 just to find out that I could download it legally without any trouble from Battle.net |
