Wow, that is one of the most depressing interviews I've ever seen.

I just finished reading his book God is not Great. He puts forward a really convincing case against religion.

What absolutely knocked me out though was the breadth and depth of his reading and experience. Hitchens really inspired me to read more - especially on history and politics.

I really hope his treatment is successful - the world would be a worse place without him in it.

really sad to see him like that...

Like many on the anti-war side I fell out with him when he fully backed George Bush and the Iraq war....but at the very least have respect for his views because they have always been rigorously thought through...

He's got some good viewpoints but I seem to remember him being an insufferable douche in just about every interview he's ever given. Am I wrong?

Thank you for posting that. It was very interesting and surprising news. I always liked his argumentative style. He has a great ability to expose other people's BS and illogical thinking.
