This might possibly be my favorite excuse I've ever heard from a university student....at the end of writing class this morning one of my students flagged me down.
She then told me, "I can't come to listening lab today."
"Why not?" I asked.
"I played dodgeball for 2 days, so I need to go to the dormitory and sleep." |

That's pretty good.
I had 2 students come to me today as I was dismissing a two hour class to tell me they couldn't come to class because they were busy setting things up for a festival.  |

| We've got the festival at the end of this week as well so the kids have been begging to finish 30 minutes early every other class because of a dodgeball, kickball, soccer, or basketball semi-final game....the crazy thing is that the university seems to be fine with it. Oh well, if the big boss wants the kids to hit each other in the head with a volleyball instead of going to class it's not my problem. |
