Good idea? Bad idea?
I plan on going home for a month before I start my next contract and I hope to have an apartment before I leave. I don't mind paying the extra month of rent as it will be convenient to have a place ready, clean, blah blah when I get back.
Just wondering if this is sketchy/illegal at all. I am going to try to transfer over my visa, but if I'm unable to, would this be a problem? I.e. renting a place without a visa (even if it is only a month...). |

| It's not illegal, but if you lose your visa and get stuck outside of Korea for a few months, you may also lose your lease. Don't lay down any new key money, and make sure you have a plan to get your old key money back if you wind up out-of-country in visa limbo. |
