|
|
This has already been discussed to death probably but I have an opportunity to work a second job.
The job that sponsors my E2 is a private hagwon and I am only a P/T worker there. They told me that they have no problem with me working another job because my hours are kind of low. My second p/t job offer is however with a private school and my boss told me that I could try and take the permission letter to immigration but they would most likely reject it because my second job may only be a public teaching job. I don't want to teach kids in an after school program but apparently I don't think I'll have a choice. My boss gave me the permission documentation and just told me to go to immigration anyway to register the second hagwon and to see what happens as sometimes, immi lets it slide. Does anyone have any experience with this (private hagwon p/t + private hagwon p/t WITH permission) and were they successful?

IF you do NOT work at a PS then you CAN take a 2nd job at another hakwon.
you need to get permission from BOTH employers
AND the blessing of immigration BEFORE you start the 2nd job.
You need both contracts,
your ARC
your passport
written permission from both employers
schedule of work from both jobs
application
60k won for the addition of a 2nd place of employment
CAVEATs:
the 2nd job cannot have more hours than your primary job.
the 2nd job cannot pay more than your primary job.
the 2nd job must legally be able to hire a foreigner.

Ttompatz,
Thank you for the response.
I was told that immigration doesn't ask for scheduling/pay concerning the second the job. They did in the past but now that has changed. If that is the case, how can they know you are being paid more? |

Told by (A) someone (2nd hand / hearsay ) or told by (B) immigration?
If "A" then don't take it as gospel.
If "B" then go back to the same officer to process your paperwork (so the rules don't change on you) and have at it.
