There was a post a while ago about shallots, but I'm wondering if there's any fresh knowledge. Are shallots (the little purple ones, not green onions) available? Somewhere in Itaewon?
I'm also looking for shrimp paste (SE Asian). I know this might be harder to find, but does anyone remember seeing it? Thanks a ton. |

There must be. Especially in Itaewon. In Itaewon there are a few French restaurants and bistros, shallots are a basic ingredient in French quisine. I would ask the chef(s) where they get theirs. I also remember seing shallot like things at a florist shop, they even smelled like them, too. If you find them please let me know. I am in desperate need of them. Steak just ain't the same without them. If you do find them and hook me up with a supplier I'll cook you a chicken parm on the house. If you are in Bucheon, come to the Park Bar, ask for Joe!
Cheers, And happy hunting! |
