now, i know its a rather delicate topic, but im looking for a massage place that actually gives you a massage.
not an-inappropriate-touching-of-genitals-place, but a real massage place.

does anybody know of a place they give you a real massage and dont charge you an arm and a leg for 15 mins?

thanks a lot!

Usually look for Thai-Massage places. Those are legit. Also sports massage. I had one korean style massage (not sexual) and it hurt like hell. I was bruised for days. My hubby went with and he was also in pain for a few days. Not nice/relaxing stuff.

However w/ any massage, you can expect to pay about 75k for an hour.

I like going to the Foot Shop. The Chinese chain has 25 outlets in Korea and a basic foot massage can be as cheap as 30,000 won per hour. They also have specials like an 80-minute aroma massage for 55,000 won.

www.thefootshop.cn (in Korean only).

Just pop into your neighborhood sauna.

Usually 30,000won for 30 minutes of 50,000won for one hour.

They will massage every inch of your body (except your genitals) in a very professional manner.

Before getting the massage you should take a shower, sit in the hot tub for 10 minutes and the steam room for 5 minutes to warm your body.

If you are worried about people seeing you, then go Monday ~ Thursday around 8~9 pm. It should be almost empty except for a few elderly men.

The last time I was at the local Gym's sauna, the guy doing the rub downs seemed less than shy with the guys he had on the table.
I haven't gotten one there, but every inch meant every inch.

When I first got here, my back was aching from the 15 hour flight and I saw some guy getting a massage at a sauna. So I walk over and point to the cheapest thing on the list for 20,000, thinking, hell its asia massages must be cheap!

It was a defoliation. And man, that guy really got into it. Flopping that sandpaper cloth right up under my sack. Felt like what I imagine a seal feels like afterwards. So slippery and soft!

But getting back on topic. I got a sports massage for 50,000 in Seoul once. It was worth it...

The best massage I ever got here was just 1500 won for 15 minutes from a chair.

Try one at your local jjimjilbang

Surprisingly, after an experience like that, not much. Can't say the desire for silky-smooth skin ever drove me repeat the experience, though...

I second thefootshop.cn

If you go off peak, they might give you a discount. Last time I got 40mins foot massage, and 20 mins back/shoulders for W33000. Dr. Fish is also an option there.
