I got a visa but I'd like to enter Korea about 2 weeks before it becomes effective, just to travel and visit some friends. Will there be any problems with this? I'm just worried I'll have to leave and re-enter or I risk overstaying my tourist visa. |

If you have an E2 in your passport and you enter Korea it will activate your E2 and start your year. You cannot have 2 valid visas in your passport and if you have a visa you cannot enter on a visa waiver stamp.
What this means is that you will have to extend your visa before the end of your contract - just a quick trip to immigration, 30k won and some paperwork to fill in.
