Currently applying for first teaching position in Korea. Seem to be having problems regarding the visa.
Im currently travelling in south east asia. I have my original diploma, CRB and TEFL certificate although these have NOT been apostilled.

One company has said I can get a visa following the steps below
1 Send application and original diploma to Korea
2 She would take it to Korea Council of University Education for verification- this would take 3/4 weeks
3 We would arrive in Korea on a tourist visa and take our Police checks to be apostilled at the British embassy
4 The documents would be registered and we would get the visa issue number
5 Fly to Japan and get the visa

However this is the only company that has said we can do this. Our other options seem to be to send the CRB to the UK to be apostilled or take it to a UK embassy outside of the commonwealth.

Im sure Im not the first person applying for a job whilst travelling so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Unless you plan to fly home for your consular interview you will need to have the original degree verified by the "Korea Council of University Education" in Korea.

At the SAME time you have 2 choices for the CRB. I don't know if you can get an apostille at your embassy (usually the home office does it) but you can Swear an affaidavit of authenticity at YOUR embassy and use that (attached to the CRB.

The other option is try to get an apostille from home and returned to you.

Last choice is fly home, get the paperwork done, do your consular interview and they fly to Korea (at least this is paid for by the school) to start work.

Making a first E2 application from abroad is a pain in the azz at the best of times but is do-able with time, patience and an address you can be reached at when waiting for documents.
