So.. I'm assuming that if I get a job through a recruiter, they will do the visa process for me?

Lot of recruiters ask me if I already have a visa - which I don't. I haven't gotten a teaching job in Korea yet, so should I wait until I get accepted into one to apply for a visa, or just do it now?

I believe you need to have a contract to get a visa. I had recruiters ask me if I had all of my documents ready to get a visa, maybe that is what they asked you.

I don't think you can get an E-2 visa without a job offer. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

1st you need a job to sponsor you (you cannot get a work visa on your own)
2nd you need them to get you a visa confirmation number
3rd you go to get your visa
4th you come to Korea.

Time for you to find the FAQs.

i just had another question: Does the Korean embassy reject the visa application if the college GPA is below a certain number?

Immigration (nor the embassy/consulate) does not care beyond the fact that you actually have a bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
