Found a few lists online.
1 Jan New Year.
2 Feb - 4 Feb Sollal (Lunar New Year).
1 Mar Independence Movement Day.
1 May Labour Day (not an official public holiday but many companies and financial markets close).
5 May Children's Day.
10 May Buddha's Birthday.
6 Jun Memorial Day.
15 Aug Liberation Day.
11 Sep - 13 Sep Chuseok (Harvest Moon Festival).
3 Oct National Foundation Day.
25 Dec Christmas Day
However, some have Lunar New Year as beginning either Feb.2 or Feb.3. Can anyone confirm which date is correct?
Also, what are the approximate dates for winter vacation for public schools? |

Your school will have a master list of dates that includes winter vacation. Ask your handler to see it. |

So does anyone know if Lunar New Year 2011 starts Feb. 2 or 3?
I find it difficult to believe with all the last minute things I'm told that there's such a thing as a master schedule at my school. Nevertheless I'll ask. |

Not being halfway through 2010, I don't see there being much call for a 2011 schedule yet. |

There isn't. My school does them by the month only and puts it out only a day or two before the 1st of the month. They still can't confirm my Summer vacation nor planned yet for the Summer camps other than saying it starts on July 26th. There is a general annual schedule such as when the semesters began and end as well as public holidays, but not the local school level annual schedule. |

But it's pretty much guaranteed that there'll be no school for Lunar New Year, correct? If Lunar New Year 2011 does fall on Weds-Thurs-Fri, that makes it a 5-day weekend so I'm looking into a holiday. |

2nd-4th would be correct so you would have at least five days adding the weekend in. Anything more would be up to the school (and highly unlikely). |

yeah, it's the 2nd to the 4th in february 2011.
as for a master list of holidays from the school, there might be one. at my present school we all get a calendar at the start of the school year detailing special events and extra school holidays. |
