Click on the map to see how the air quality is where you are.

There is A LOT of unhealthy air warnings, with particulates, nitrogen dioxide, ozone and sulphur dioxide levels.

Areas of Seoul and the surrounding province of Gyeonggido and down in the basin of Daegu are RED DOTted, meaning very unhealthy.

Yeosu on the south coast, Gangneung on the east coast and Jeju are all GREEN DOTted right now, probably because of the ocean winds clearing things up.

My town's dot is yellow for the first time in a month. Usually I'm assured by the blue and green dots.

I noticed in the last 2 days that the air is bad and it's very hazy. This hazyness is strange as it's not humid and breathing feels heavier than normal. I'm in rural Gangwondo and it's bad air these days. NE Asia is a cesspool of pollution due to manufacturing and undesirable weather patterns. I was hoping a nice big whirlwind of a typhoon would show up to clear it out, but it didn't this year so the air is much worse this Fall than it normally is.

How ye all doing up there in Seoul City?

Just going on personal impressions, I'd say Seoul's air quality is better than it was when I first came here. It used to be you almost never saw blue skies and some days you couldn't see the opposite side of the Han.

The haziness tho', I believe comes from high levels of humidity rather than pollution.

Here's another useful site for checking air quality. It started getting bad yesterday.

Good morning. The air north of Daejon is awful this calm dawn and not particularly good anywhere on the peninsula.

Only Seogwipo has a blue dot for 'good' regarding particulates in the air.

Sucks to be one of the runners at the IAU World 24 Hour Ultramarathon Championships being held in Seoul this weekend. As if running in a loop on a track for a day wasn't hard enough...
