Howdy,
After waiting for no avail for GH5 to come available for less than 90,000 Disc only I finally got round to modding my xbox. So, I got guitar hero 5 and Beatles RB running great, but whenever I try to burn a disc myself the machine thinks it's a DVD Sad . I got an LG lightscribe DL burner, burning at a low rate, patching back to wave 3... nada
Is there a way to see what version of the custom firmware I'm on, or find out what wave I should be patching to?

Use CloneCD to burn the discs and you MUST use high end discs - Verbatim were the brand of choice in Korea if I remember correctly. I think they're about 3,000W each for the DL discs.

I have a macbook and I use a program called OSx360. I like to run the .iso through abgx360 first on the highest autofix settings. (i dont care about stealth patching, just for peace of mind i spose) For the longest time i was having troubles burning using my macbook so i started using my external sony dual layer burner and it works perfect every time. Verbatiums, 2.4 speed. If you just got it modded, you should have the latest firmware and shouldnt need to patch down to wave 3.

Are you unable to get to Yongsan easily? If you buy 3 or 4 at once you can usually get them down to 7k each. With the cost of CDs, I'm willing to pay that little more for a case with some boxart. Even if it is a little crappy.

Oh, I can. I'll be there this eve in fact. The lure of RDR and Alan Wake is too much for me. I'd just like to know for future reference

Everyone says use only verbatim, but I recently bought a 10-pack of LG DVD +R 8X DLs hesitantly to find out that every one of the 10 burned without issue, so bought another 10 to find them to all burn fine too. In the middle of my third batch. Ten cost less than 11,000won where I buy them.

Anyway, good to hear you resolved the problem!

@denverdeath.

I've been using Imation discs (Ritek) without any problems. Very cheap on Gmarket.
