Anyone knows of any guitar repair shops in Korea? Seoul or Jeolla namdo area? I want to lower the action in my acoustic guitar. I tried doing it myself but failed.

Thanks

There is a place that I go to in Insadong, at the Nagwon Arcade. The joint is called G-Cat. They have done excellent work on all my gits. I had my Gibby re-set and fret board cleaned, damn they dressed my frets, set her up restrung her, only cost about 60 bucks. Not only do they do excellent work, but they do it the same day(may have to wait for an hour os so), but get there early. They open at 11 and close at 8. They also have a showroom in Hyungdae and soon to open a musical instrument hospital, too.

The owner speaks English, well enough. Also out of the vast amount of repair shops, I found these guys to be the most honest and skilled.

...Also lowering the action on an acoustic is not easy, sometimes impossible. They will probably have to shim away some of the bridge and nut. Usually people want to raise the action, which is much easier.

Just an observation: back home I took my guitars to a luthier to lower the action, and he did it while I waited. It seems like a relatively simple process if you have the gauges, files and know-how. It took about 5 minutes to check the neck, adjust the truss rod if necessary, and file the bottom of the saddle and/or nut slots. He charged me $15 which I thought was reasonable. I know a lot of techs will charge a lot more for a "setup" which is basically the same thing.
