It falls on the 6th this year, Sunday, so do we get Monday off as well? I know sometimes they do this to have a long weekend.

Thanks!

It's up to individual employers, but as a general rule most businesses don't cut their employees slack like that. Red day on a Saturday or Sunday? You're SOL.

Some people get lucky though. For example I got two days tagged on to Children's Day for a 5 day weekend, and this year Chuseok is Tue/Wed/Thu and my school is giving us the entire week.

I'm in a public school, and we definitely don't get it off. Generally employers don't like to give days off when that day technically isn't a holiday. They want to make money too badly...Weekend holidays, unless it's a big one like Chuseok, aren't days off.

We get election day off on Wednesday the 2nd though!

you also might want to double check with your school. But thats what happened last year, and it's marked off on my school's calendar!
