I need to send money home on Tuesday, but I wont be able to visit my normal branch. I figure the KB in Itaewon MUST do international transfers, but I just want to make sure.
thanks. |

Any bank that has a foreign exchange desk can do international wire transfers.
this includes most (if not all) of the KB* branches in Korea (they are one of the Western Union franchise holders in Korea.)

The 2nd floor is where the Int. Banking is done. (Not al people would be aware of that.) You can ask them to set up International bank transfers with your ATM card. If you give them an account that you send money to~ they will enter it into the computer and voila! You can transfer via ATM. Very convenient! I think that you save a bit of money on the transfer, as well.
Good luck! |

Really. Good luck setting up your ATM card for international transfers. I did it with KB last year at the KB in Myeongdong without incident.
Went to do a transfer last week, and there were problems. Wouldn't work through the ATM. Why wouldn't it work? Lo and behold, the bank has changed its policies again!
I sat for 2 hours at the KB location near where I live and the attendant even ran away in tears! cuz she was so frustrated.
ATM transfers are convenient if you get competent staff. |
