The suicide note said the lecturer, who worked part-time at universities for a decade, was offered a professorship for 100 million won (81,000 U.S. dollars) and killed himself via suffocation by burning a charcoal briquette in his living room.
-------------------------------------
The lecturer worked at several universities but his monthly pay was a mere one million won (817 dollars). His wife worked as a waitress at a restaurant to earn money for their sons university costs and for their daughter, who is preparing for the college entrance exam.

This is difficult to reply to.

(1) The dude didn't know the system well, and thus couldn't work it well
(2) This corruption happens at many levels. Private schools suffer in the same bad situation as do universities.
(3)He COULD have got that uni job with bribes. Any man who gets to that level of education probably has a family to back him up. Who can bribe. If he doesn't know, he should become a welder or something. Because this is Korea.

Basically, this dude should have blown the whistle insteasdof topping himself.
Too late now.
